Apron Dress
This pretty dress is for the Dress-Me Doll. It is very simple to make; and just by changing colors you could create an entire closet full of dresses for your Doll.
Supplies:
5.50 mm crochet hook
Lavender worsted weight weight yarn
Soft White worsted weight yarn
* colors are based on Red Heart Super Saver yarn
scissors
yarn needle
Abbreviations Used:
ch --- chain
sc --- single-crochet
st/sts --- stitch/stitches
sk --- skip
slp st --- slip stitch
trc --- triple-crochet
Notes:
--- I used a Lavender and Soft White to create a spring-time dress; but the color choices and combinations are endless.
~Pattern~
Leaving a long tail, with the Lavender yarn, ch 15.
Row 1: ch 1, turn; 2sc in each ch across - 30sts
Row 2: ch 1, turn; 2sc in first st, 1sc in next 4sts; repeat to end - 36sts
Row 3: ch 1, turn; 1sc in first 6sts, 2sc in next 6sts, 1sc in next 12sts, 2sc in next 6sts, 1sc in last 6sts - 48sts
Row 4: ch 1, turn; 1sc in first 6sts, ch 3, sk next 12sts, 1sc in next 12sts, ch 3, sk next 12sts, 1sc in last 6sts - 24sts, 2 ch-3 spaces
Dress underarms have been created.
Row 5: ch 1, turn; 1sc in each st and ch across - 30sts
Rows 6-9: ch 1, turn; 1sc in each st across - 30sts
Change to Soft White; fasten off the Lavender yarn.
Row 10 & 11: ch 1, turn; 1sc in each st across - 30st
Change to Lavender; fasten off the the Soft White yarn.
Row 12: ch 1, turn; 2sc in first st, 1sc in next 4sts; repeat to end - 36sts
Row 13: ch 1, turn; 1sc in each st across - 36sts
Row 14: ch 1, turn; 2sc in first st, 1sc in next 3sts; repeat to end - 45sts
Rows 15-20: ch 1, turn; 1sc in each st across - 45sts
Change to Soft White; fasten off the Lavender yarn.
Row 21: ch 1, turn; slp st in first st, 3trc in next st; * slp st in next 2sts, 3trc in next st; repeat from * to last st, slp st in last st - 15 shells made
Fasten off.
Finishing:
Turn the Dress wrong-side out.
Starting at the bottom of the Dress, using the tail of Lavender yarn, sew the two sides of the Dress together up until the white band (Row 10); tie off.
Turn the Dress right-side out.
Cut two lengths of yarn; attach one piece to each top side of the back of the Dress to create a tie closure.
Tie off and trim all loose threads.

Dress-Me Doll
I designed this for a little girl who LOVES to dress-up her dolls. Its size makes it easy to hold; and very easy to work up. I've already made some clothes for her to wear (the dress in the second picture). I hope to have the patterns written up in the next week or so :)

Cornmeal worsted weight yarn
Coffee worsted weight yarn
Black worsted weight yarn
* colors are based on Red Heart Super Saver yarn

ch --- chain
sc --- single-crochet
st/sts --- stitch/stitches
sc2tog --- single-crochet 2 stitches together
slp st --- slip stitch

Head & Body:
Rnd 1: with Cornmeal, ch 2; 6sc in second ch from hook - 6sts
Rnd 2: 2sc in each st around - 12sts
Rnd 3: 2sc in first st, 1sc in next st; repeat to end - 18sts
Rnd 4: 2sc in first st, 1sc in next 2sts; repeat to end - 24sts
Rnds 5-8: 1sc in each st around - 24sts
Rnd 9: sc2tog, 1sc in next 2sts; repeat to end - 18sts
Rnd 10: sc2tog, 1sc in next st; repeat to end - 12sts
Rnd 11: 2sc in first st, 1sc in next st; repeat to end - 18sts
Rnd 12: 2sc in first st, 1sc in next 2sts; repeat to end - 24sts
Rnds 13-23: 1sc in each st around - 24sts
Fasten off; leave a long tail for sewing.
Leg (make 2):
Rnd 1: with Cornmeal, ch 2; 5sc in second ch from hook - 5sts
Rnd 2: 2sc in each st around - 10sts
Rnds 3-18: 1sc in each st around - 10sts
DO NOT fasten off.
Firmly stuff the leg; pinch the opening closed.
Going through both sides of the Leg, 1sc in each st across to seal - 5sts
Chain 1, turn; 1sc in each st across - 5sts
Fasten off.
Arms (make 2):
Rnd 1: with Cornmeal, ch 2; 4sc in second ch from hook - 4sts
Rnd 2: 2sc in each st around - 8sts
Rnds 3-13: 1sc in each st around - 8sts
DO NOT fasten off.
Firmly stuff the Arm; pinch the opening closed.
Going through both sides of the Arm, 1sc in each st across to seal - 4sts
Fasten off; leave a long tail for sewing.
Hair:
Leaving a tail at the start, with Coffee, ch 2.
Rnd 1: 6sc in second ch from hook - 6sts
Rnd 2: 2sc in each st around - 12sts
Rnd 3: 2sc in first st, 1sc in next st; repeat to end - 18sts
Rnd 4: 2sc in first st, 1sc in next 2sts; repeat to end - 24sts
Rnd 5: slp st in first 2sts; ch 6, slp st in next st; ch 6, slp st in same st; ch 6, slp st in next st, slp st in next st; 1sc in last 19sts - Bangs created.
* The remainder of the Hair will be worked in Rows.
Row 1: ch 1, turn; 1sc in each st across - 19sts
Rows 2-6: ch 1, turn; 1sc in each st across - 19sts
Row 7: ch 6, slp st in first st; * ch 6, slp st in next st; repeat from * to end - 19 loops made
Fasten off; leave a long tail for sewing.
Assembly & Finishing.
Firmly stuff the Head and Body.
Using the tail of yarn, sew the bottom of the Body closed; attach the Legs as you work.
Place the Hair on the top of the Head; sew in place using the tails of yarn.
Position the Arms on the sides of the Body; sew in place.
Using the Black yarn, stitch Eyes and a Mouth onto the Face.
Tie off and trim all loose threads.
