Everybody could use a some love. This little monster is just perfect for the job =>
Supplies:
5.00 mm crochet hook
Petal Pink worsted weight yarn
Antique White worsted weight yarn
Lavender worsted weight yarn
* colors are based on Red Heart Super Saver Yarn
stitch marker
stuffing material
scissors
yarn needle
Abbreviations Used:
Rnd (s) --- round(s)
ch --- chain
sc --- single-crochet
st/sts --- stitch/stitches
sc2tog --- single-crochet 2 stitches together
Notes:
--- Be sure to move the stitch marker up as you complete each round.
~Pattern~
Body:
Rnd 1: with the Pink yarn, ch 2; 6sc in second ch from hook - 6sts
Rnd 2: 2sc in each st around - 12sts
Rnd 3: 2sc in first st, 1sc in next st; repeat to end - 18sts
Rnd 4: 2sc in first st, 1sc in next 2sts; repeat to end - 24sts
Rnd 5: 2sc in first st, 1sc in next 3sts; repeat to end - 30sts
Rnd 6: 2sc in first st, 1sc in next 4sts; repeat to end - 36sts
Rnds 7-9: 1sc in each st around - 36sts
DO NOT fasten off.
First Leg:
Work 1sc in each of the next 15sts.
For st 16, join to the other side to form a ring - 16sts
* Work in Rnds without joining for the remainder of the pattern.
Rnds 1-7: 1sc in each st around - 16sts
Begin firmly stuffing the Body and the First Leg.
Rnd 8: sc2tog; repeat to end - 8sts
Finish firmly stuffing the First Leg.
Rnd 9: sc2tog; repeat to end - 4sts
Fasten off.
Second Leg:
Leaving 2sts unworked (one on each side), work 1sc in each of the next 15sts; join as before with st 16 to form a ring.
* Work in Rnds without joining for the remainder of the pattern.
Rnds 1-7: 1sc in each st around - 16sts
Finish firmly stuffing the Body and begin stuffing the Second Leg.
Rnd 8: sc2tog; repeat to end - 8sts
Finish firmly stuffing the Second Leg.
Rnd 9: Sc2tog; repeat to end - 4sts
Fasten off.
Eye (make 1):
Rnd 1: with the Antique White yarn, ch 2; 5sc in second ch from hook - 4sts
Rnd 2: 2sc in each st around - 10sts
Fasten off; leave a long tail for sewing.
Finishing:
Using the Petal Pink yarn, sew the opening in the bottom of the Monster closed.
Using the tail of yarn, sew the Eye onto the Face.
With the Lavender yarn, sew a pupil onto the Eye.
Using the Lavender yarn, stitch a smile onto the Monster's face.
Tie off and trim all loose threads.
